The 2010 Peak
Statewide filings peaked at 66,274 in 2010 — the high-water mark of the post-2008 housing crisis. Filings then fell for nine straight years through 2019.
The COVID Floor
Filings collapsed to 5,439 in 2021 under federal moratoriums — an 87% drop from peak. The market has since climbed back to roughly 13,000 filings/year.
